An Isipingo Beach family was left traumatised after a gang of brazen suspects broke into their residence in broad daylight last week, fleeing with television sets, a laptop and a cellphone.
Alpha Alarms, a local security company, responded to the premises after a panic signal as received.
Spokesman for Alpha Alarms, Seshin Govender, said, “According to the occupants, it is alleged that five suspects stormed the house where four suspects derailed the driveway gate to access the property while the driver remained in the vehicle. The four suspects were reported by the occupants to be armed and proceeded to the house where they forced open the burglar gate and front door to enter the premises. The suspects then proceeded to ransack the house while a female from the house was inside the bedroom.
Upon the female hearing unfamiliar sounds in the house and assuming it was one of their workers, she exited the room to check. She was accosted by two of the suspects who demanded gold from her. She informed the suspects that there was no gold and the suspects helped themselves to two flat-screen TVs, an Apple iPhone, a laptop and charger.
“Isipingo Beach CPF members were quickly on site. Isipingo SAPS also responded to the scene. A search was conducted for the suspects but no arrests were made,” said Govender.
