A drug dealer was convicted and ordered to pay a fine of R30, 000, half of which was suspended for five years on condition that he is not convicted of the same offence when he appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court, recently.

According to Port Shepstone SAPS communications officer, Captain PZ Mpinge, the accused, Bongani Zowakhe Phewa of uMzumbe was nabbed by members of SAPS Port Shepstone who acted on information and proceeded to the corners of Wooley and Nelson Mandela streets on 8 August 2018.

“The members proceeded to search a 30-year-old man. 325 capsules of heroin and approximately R4,000 in cash was found in his possession,” said Mpinge.
