Phoenix police are investigating a business robbery in the Starwood vicinity after three suspects robbed a business owner at gunpoint and fled with cash, alcohol and a cellphone, last week.

Phoenix SAPS communications officer, Cpt L Naidoo, said, “The business owner saw three men on the monitor and granted them access to enter the premises as he believed that they were customers. The trio then accosted the owner at gunpoint and demanded cash from the till estimated at about R10, 000. The suspects also insisted upon the safe key being handed over and they helped themselves to about
R50 000 in cash, a cellphone from the complainant and a bottle of vodka valued at about R300.

“No shots were fired and the business robbery is under investigation. No arrests have been made.”
