Runners from the Bluff Athletic Club joined athletes from all around Durban to participate in the Sapphire Coast Goss and Balfe Coast Marathon held on Sunday, 28 October, courtesy of Amanzimtoti Athletics Club (ACC).
The race, a Comrades Marathon qualifier, provided runners with an opportunity to board a train to the starting point in Scottburgh and Ilfracombe for the half marathon.
“We introduced a 10km distance this year, which started at Illovo Beach. Athletes were taken along the Sapphire Coast, enjoying the sunrise views and ocean horizon as they made their way through to the finish in Amanzimtoti,” said Chantelle Webber, the PRO at ACC.
Webber said that this has been the club’s biggest attendance and participation of the Goss and Balfe Coast Marathon with 3688 entries.
