The Miss uMhlanga Beauty Pageant will take place on Monday, 17 December, and is one of the highlights of the uMhlanga Summer Festival.
The pageant will be co-ordinated by Kevin Ellis and Gareth Greaves.
The contest is open to those aged 15 and older.
Registration is at 10.30am at the beach on the day, and the event starts at 2pm.
Funds raised will be ploughed into child-focused NGOs, supporting the season’s theme ‘It’s Cool to Care’.
Previous winners of the competition have flown the South African flag high around the globe.
They include – Tana Boschoff who became Swimsuit Model of the World, Kayla Booth, who now lives in Paris, and is a moulin rouge dancer and Sune Botes, a runner-up in the Model of the World Pageant.
The judging panel includes former pageant winner, Neena Bezuidenhout and Natisha Makka who was a finalist in the Mrs SA Pageant.
Chairman for the uMhlanga Tourism Committee, Peter Rose said: “The beauty pageant is always a highlight of the festival. We have had many previous winners and finalists who have gone on to claim titles on both national and international levels.”
