Baby wails filled the air at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital just after midnight when a Christmas newborn made her arrival into the world at the Phoenix medical facility.

The bouncing baby girl named Joy was born exactly two minutes after midnight on Tuesday, 25 December. She was warmly welcomed into the world by her 35-year-old mother, Nomcebo Masiseleku and a team of medical staff at the hospital. The acting chairperson of the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital Board, Pastor Mervyn Reddy who visited the mum at the hospital, congratulated her and prayed for the baby girl as he spent some time with them. The new mum was overjoyed as she received a goodie bag from the Department of Health as well as a hamper, courtesy of Bethsaida Ministries International.
