A Phoenix mother is desperately appealing to the public for information about her 15-year-old daughter, who has been missing since Thursday, 8 October.
Terayne Tia Ganesan, from Greenbury, Phoenix, reportedly left her family’s residence in Peargreen Place at about 2.30pm following an argument with her grandmother.
According to information released by Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the teenager packed clothing into a red bag before leaving the house. Her whereabouts remain unknown, and she has not contacted her family since.
Her mother, Simone Coopen, said the lack of information about her daughter’s whereabouts had left her distressed. She is appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard from the teenager to come forward.
“It’s now the fifth day with no solid information on my baby. Any information on my child will really help me right now,” said Coopen.

She said her daughter was last seen at her father’s residence in Peargreen, Unit 2. Coopen also provided an updated description of the teenager, stating that her hair is now blonde and black. She said she finds it difficult to believe that nobody has information about her daughter since she was last seen.
“I appeal to anyone who may have any information about my daughter’s whereabouts to please come forward without hesitation. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could help us find her. It’s impossible for me to believe that no one has seen or heard from my child since 8 October. I am desperate for answers and simply want to know where she is,” she said.
According to reports, Terayne was last seen wearing a white tracksuit and Adidas sandals, and carrying a red bag. Her family said she had never left home under similar circumstances before.
As the search continues, Coopen is appealing to the community to help bring her daughter home by sharing any information that could assist in locating her.
Anyone with information about Terayne’s whereabouts is urged to contact her mother, Simone Coopen, via WhatsApp on 067 087 6220.
