World Cancer Day, observed on 4 February, raises awareness about cancer and highlights the importance of prevention, early detection, treatment, and holistic care. Alongside medical treatment, emotional and psychological support remains essential in helping patients cope and heal.
In this spirit, the Al Ansaar Cancer Support Group (CSG) continues to walk alongside women affected by cancer, offering comfort, strength, and community. The group held its first meeting for 2026 on Saturday, 17 January, reuniting after a five-week break. The gathering was marked by a warm atmosphere of spirituality, peace, and mutual support, as members reconnected and shared their journeys.
The meeting featured guest speaker Muallimah Zaheda Bhayat, who delivered an uplifting message of hope and resilience, drawing on her personal experiences supporting loved ones with cancer. Her talk encouraged positivity and reinforced the power of unity in overcoming challenges.
Al Ansaar CSG meets monthly and welcomes women of all faiths who are currently battling cancer or are in remission. For more information or to join, contact Rubina Paruk or Zohra Jadwat on 064 963 1193.
