In a heartwarming testament to love, faith, and family, twin brothers Pastor Sunny Chetty and Dadda Chetty recently marked an extraordinary milestone – their 47th wedding anniversary. The inseparable duo tied the knot on 6 May 1978, in a joint Christian ceremony at the Bethshan Tabernacle Church in Chatsworth, marrying their respective soulmates.
Born just minutes apart, the brothers fondly recall their wedding day as a grand affair filled with joy, music, prayer, and the warmth of family and friends. “We had to hire buses to transport everyone because there were so many guests who came to witness the double celebration,” the Chetty twins laughed.

Pastor Sunny met his wife, Ruth Chetty, during a visit to her aunt’s house, and Dadda Chetty met Sindha Chetty at a family gathering, experiencing love at first sight. Over the years, both couples have built lives rooted in faith, love, and unity, raising five children and enjoying the joys of grandparenthood with three grandchildren.
The twins enjoy relaxing fishing trips, a hobby they’ve shared since childhood, while their wives are known for cooking delicious meals that keep the Chetty men smiling. To celebrate their golden anniversary, the couples gathered for a heartfelt lunch surrounded by loved ones, reflecting on their journey with gratitude and grace.
Speaking of their secret to a lasting marriage, the Chetty twins said: “Always keep God at the centre of your marriage. He is the foundation that holds everything together. Be faithful not only in action but in heart, communicate often, forgive freely, and always make time for each other. Marriage is not perfect, but with love, patience, and prayer, it becomes a beautiful journey. Our commitment to God and to one another is what has carried us through for so many years.”
