After reaching out to the Newcastle Express for assistance, the Home Defenders Football Club recently received a soccer kit donation, much to their delight.
The kit was very generously donated by local police officer, Sphiwe Xaba. The girls played in their soccer tournament, all decked out in their new kit, with a host of spectators cheering them on. Their dedicated coach, 18-year-old Siphamandla Dlamini, said that he is extremely proud of the girls. The team played in Dannhauser and even though they lost, they were still placed second on the log. “Although we lost, I am very grateful to our sponsor, Mr Xaba, the Newcastle Express and the community for assisting the team when it was needed the most. I know that with the new kit comes new confidence and we look forward to playing in more tournaments and winning,” said Dlamini.
