A Mountview mother has died after she was stabbed twice, allegedly by her boyfriend. It is alleged that the woman, 28, threatened to kill their two-month-old baby during an altercation.

An argument ensued in their shack in Jacaranda Ave, where the woman accused her boyfriend, 23, of being HIV positive and she then threatened to kill the baby, who she suspected was infected with the virus.

According to the family of the suspect, the two were arguing throughout the night in regard to his infidelity. Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) was called requesting medical assistance for the critically injured woman.

According to Rusa’s Prem Balram, when paramedics arrived they found that the woman was stabbed in the chest and back with a large kitchen knife.

“She was pronounced dead on arrival. According to the members of the family, the seriously injured woman attempted to seek assistance from her boyfriend’s family but collapsed outside her shack. The infant was not injured,” said Balram.
