Cheptegei crossed the line in twenty seven minutes and twenty eight second for the fourth fastest time in the world this year, as well as a Ugandan National Record.

In the women’s race Mercyline Chelangat had the race of her life as she conquered the elite women race. She improved her best time of thirty-three and seventeen second by a massive one minute and forty second to clock an incredible 31:37 for the second fastest time ever on South African soil.
