The stolen bakkie was quickly recovered in Sydenham

The wonders of technology assisted a frantic vehicle owner and Marshall Security Special Operations Team to track and recover a bakkie stolen from outside a school in Essenwood Road on Saturday.

According to Marshall Security spokesman, Kyle Van Reenen, Marshall Security received a call for assistance after a motor vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux, had been stolen outside a school in Essenwood Road in Durban.

“The stolen motor vehicle contained the owner’s iPad which was tracked by the owner, who relayed information to the Marshall Security Emergency Contact Centre and our Special Operations Team were activated to assist.

The vehicle was tracked and found abandoned in the Sydenham area where it was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing,” said Van Reenen.
