Greenwood Park police have confirmed that Carmen Lee, mother of murdered Durban North Siam Lee was arrested on Friday and had spent the weekend at a police cell.

Station’s spokesperson Sergeant Vincent Mthembu said that Carmen have been detained on charges of theft and malicious damage to property. “She appeared at the Durban Magistrates’ court on Monday,” he said.
Siam Lee went missing on January 4 outside a Durban North brothel where she worked with her mother, her charred remains were found in a sugarcane field in New Hanover in the KZN Midlands tow days later.

The 29-year-old man accused of her kidnapping and murder is scheduled to appear in court later this week for his bail application. He faces charges, including the kidnapping and murder of Lee, as well as the rape of another woman.
