A range of Muslim women from different backgrounds will take to the podium for the sixth annual Muslimah Today conference on 26 and 27 August in Durban.
Focussing on the theme: Developing self, developing society, the impressive line-up of speakers will discuss various topics aimed at empowering attendees and fostering a spirit of sisterhood in their midst.
In a session called: Recognising the Mercy and Blessings of Allah in Every Situation, Shameema Shaikjee will share her perspectives on coping with stage four ovarian cancer and subsequently lung and breast cancer.
Zaheerah Bham-Ismail will explain how she copes with the grief attached to unexpectedly losing her sister, through keeping her legacy alive.
Mooneera Asmal will tell attendees how a spinal injury that her son suffered in an accident inspired her to co-found a neuro-rehabilitation foundation.
The conference, which is organised by ILM-SA, a Durban based NGO, is jam-packed with other inspirational topics and speakers including Mrs Zuleikha Mayat, Quraysha Ismail Sooliman and Haafidhah Radia Bawa-Hendricks.
A previous attendee said,“I truly enjoyed every single speaker, it motivated and inspired every woman there.
