The Environment Team at Chelsea Preparatory School went the extra mile to illustrate the problem of pollution in our oceans.

They filled the school’s swimming pool with over two hundred plastic bottles while the learners attempted to swim among the debris.

According to Anne Frost, the school’s marketing manager, the aim was to highlight the plight of the sea creatures affected by the plastic that pollutes the oceans.

“This was done to create awareness on how plastic is affecting oceans and the environment. One million plastic bottles are bought every minute worldwide, and less than 50 percent are recycled. We would like to thank Dainfern College in Johannesburg for the idea,” said Frost.
