Two Gr 10 learners from Crawford College La Lucia, Willie Leggett IV and Jeremy Simpson, participated in the Cape Town Global Round of the annual World Scholar’s Cup.
These learners took part in this year’s academic writing and debating competition which is research-driven and inquiry-based, with an open curriculum under the umbrella theme of The Unlikely World.
More than 500 learners from around the country participated in this five-day competition filled with writing, debating, dancing and scavenging. Willie and Jeremy’s team won two gold medals and numerous silver and individual medals.
They were placed in the top 30 and qualified for the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in November.
