“Upon arrival, officers were informed by the victim that two suspects, one who was armed with a .38 special revolver, attempted to hijack him of his Dodge Caliber,” said Balram.

He added that the suspects fired several shots at the driver while his 18 month old baby, 4-year-old daughter and his wife were in the vehicle.

“The victim returned fire at the suspects who abandoned the hijacking and fled into a nearby sugar cane plantation after running out of ammunition. The occupants of the vehicle were not injured during the incident,” said Balram.
