Malvern SAPS Crime Prevention members removed a dagga plantation on Thursday, 17 August.
Malvern SAPS Corporate Communications Officer W/O Radhika Marimuthu stated that the members held covert surveillance at the area in Malvern. “Intelligence had been received regarding a dagga plantation at a large field. The members moved in swiftly and after forming a human net together with community members, pulled out all the dagga plants from the plantation,” said Marimuthu.
Marimuthu stated that intelligence received is always an added bonus in the fight against crime. The Station Commander Lt-Col Valarine Reddy who was also present thanked the members of the community for their assistance and stated that community members must feel free to report all suspicious activities to the police.
