Shaun Schoeman, Kimera Bechan and Nishen Naidoo from Kingsway High School, make up the team that participated in the Mintech Miniquiz who made it to the top five and went through to the final round.

Grade 12 Prefect Shaun Schoeman, was the top placed KZN learner in the recent Mintech Minquiz and will represent KZN at the National Quiz in Gauteng in July.

Last year Schoeman was one of the Top 100 learners in South Africa and Neighbouring Countries in the Maths Olympiad. Shaun is also part of the Kingsway High Chess Team and is their Number One Board player and has not lost a match this season, so far.

Last year, in Grade 11 he received the Subject Prize for Computer Applications Technology and was awarded Academic Colours (average over 80%).

This year Schoeman participated and won the first round which was an individual round and collectively got into the top five with his team.

After an outstanding performance he now has his sights set on winning at the nationals.
